I see the state of mobile web today as 'easy access'. Easy access to anything from a number of angles. Through Google Search, the mobile device can find a location, draw you a map and one-touch/click dialing. It doesn't get much easier than that.
I have been sitting here trying to think of new things that could be done with mobile devices. For arguments sake, I am going to focus on the iPhone. I think I may have something. It seems to me, that a cool use for iPhone would be an app that 'converts' the unit into a game controller. Let's say you have guests over and you only have two Wii controllers. Everyone with an iPhone could download the app that allows the unit to simulate the controller for the Wii, Xbox or PS3. This, way more people could play at once. I realize this is not a 'big picture' use but I think it is an entertaining one.
Well, as it turns out this is something that is available using the PSP. You can make it a PS3 controller and use them as a secondary piece playing on the PS3. So, let's try this again...
Coming with untried uses for mobile devices is more trying that I thought!
